THE BEAUTY OF THE POTAGER GARDEN

If you are new to growing your own food, one of the most beautiful and rewarding ways to begin is by creating a potager garden.

The word potager comes from France and traditionally refers to a kitchen garden where vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers are grown together in a space that is both productive and
beautiful.

Unlike a traditional vegetable patch that might focus only on rows of crops, a potager garden is designed to be as pleasing to the eye as it is generous with its harvest.

At the heart of a potager garden is the idea that food and flowers belong together. Herbs spill between vegetables, edible flowers attract pollinators and fruit bushes provide structure and colour throughout the seasons.  The result is a garden that feels abundant, vibrant and full of life.

At The Grow Up we celebrate this style of gardening, where companion planting, biodiversity and thoughtful design create a garden that supports both people and nature.

Explore how to create your own potager inspired kitchen garden filled with colour, life and delicious homegrown food.
